Art: PE Steampunk Exchange for Icarus

The final Private Exchange! For my long-time buddy, Sam. This is Papillion, which means butterfly in French. She is a magician, and all her spells are in Latin. I just fell in love with the idea of "linea tractare". I think it's actually a spell for turning things into puppets, but I turned it around and made her into a marionette, carrying her own strings. It fits well with the idea of humans using technology to create dolls in their own likeness, a theme that folds neatly into the steampunk genre.

For the 100th round over at Private Exchange. Wow, I have been a member for so long. I was really excited the oldbies got invited to participate this round.  I'm trying to get better at coloring my pencils digitally.  This gorgeous pirate girl belongs to Ruth Silvercat.

She's a "maneater." ;) I was so happy I got this character for the Gothic/Gore Exchange over at PE.  She belongs to Dwenda - amazing hair, great clothes, very voluptuous. And of course, blood. If it's not obvious, I love the color red.

Tried a lot out using setsuna22's coloring tutorial and cloak's textures. The cel shading, even with the textures and lighting only took two days. Makes me never want to go back to detailed rendering, haha!

Lots of sketches today. I signed up for a "sketchbook light" exchange where we draw and exchange a total of twenty pictures over three months. I've finished half of them!

I don't CG often enough, but this only took three or four hours from sketch to color! This is a normal Private Exchange round, Elaine for Tinkerbelcky. I think two more normal rounds, and I'm calling it quits from the group. I've been there since I was a sophomore in high school, haha.

I almost forgot how good the results on cel shading could be if you play with light correctly - and it's much faster than painting, too.

Finished the Nina piece for Kichisu. I like her character design. Unfortunately, I can't explain my "implicit doorway" layout or her badly painted hands.

Although, I was going for a new style with the lineart and anatomical exaggeration. It's not my everyday style, but I like it.

Went crazy on the limbs, but this is a Gaia Commission for || son zack || from an auction I previously had.


This one is also for || son zack ||, but it turned out much better, I think. I feel my anatomy is getting stronger overall, though.

A BL commission for Kohl XII on Gaia. I haven't drawn something like this in awhile. Hehe. Minus the dangling hand on Charlie (right) , I'm pretty satisfied. I think I'm doing better with sylistic faces and angling them.

Some chibi commissions of teenage girls frm New York Anime Festival. They look like Bratx dolls crossed with genetically inbred Powerpuff girls. Argh.
