She's a "maneater." ;) I was so happy I got this character for the Gothic/Gore Exchange over at PE. She belongs to Dwenda - amazing hair, great clothes, very voluptuous. And of course, blood. If it's not obvious, I love the color red.

Time for a wealth of commissions I've been working on since the new year. First, here are some nice girls that commissioned me at Anime Los Angeles.
In addition, there was one guy who kept going back and forth from my table - for all three days. He was really stuck over which character of his to get. I was really happy to get to draw a character who is pretty out of my element.
This is a commission through deviantART. These two are siblings in a post-Apocalyptic world. Hehe, I did most of this when visiting my best friend in San Fransisco when he was here for Game Developer's conference. I miss him! D:

Writing - TVFT 548: Enter Sorian
I took a screenwriting class, focusing on character development. We were instructed to write scenes based on our characters, and since Rivek is much further along than his nemesis, I chose to flesh out Sorian.
Because I normally work in prose, writing in screenplay format was incredibly difficult for me since it limits any kind of description!
If Mondigan were a movie, this would be his introductory scene.

EXT. SNOWY FIELD - DAY
Two nations' armies fight on an ice-covered field. One side, in white and gray, is accustomed to the weather and makes large, stalwart, movements, using wide swings to hack their foes apart. Their opponents, in green and gold, slip on the rocks which poke from the snow but have greater finesse with their weapons.
SORIAN, a heavily-armored general, stands alone beside his horse on a cliff, overlooking the fray. He sports thick, fur-lined, white clothing with accents of gold that denote royal level of authority. He also wears a horned helmet that covers his entire face with a menacing iron mask. Foggy breath escapes through the mouth grate, which is shaped into a carnivorous grin.
SORIAN watches the action, but both sides seem evenly matched. He tightens the grip on his horse's reins.
The animal, also covered in gold armor, shuffles its thick, furry legs.
It tosses its head, and SORIAN disciplines it with a sharp tug.
SORIAN mounts the creature with professional ease and walks it calmly down the mountain. He scans the ground and notices a trail of abnormally bright, red, blood.
SORIAN dismounts to follow it, still at a slow, deliberate pace. The sound of battle fades away as he moves into a more secluded area.
ANDELL, the battered crown prince of the enemy kingdom, crouches amidst cast-off armor, bleeding from an exposed artery in his right arm. He presses snow over the wound, trying to get it to close and forces a fearful laugh as SORIAN approaches.
ANDELL: You must be him - Sorian, War-Prince of the Icy North.
SORIAN nods, more warm breath escaping from his mask.
ANDELL (CONT'D): I was never into that. Always preferred politics to beatings, myself. It's what you get when you come from a family of doctors. Royal doctors, especially.
SORIAN unsheathes his sword and motions for ANDELL to get up.
ANDELL squints in confusion.
SORIAN gestures again..
ANDELL struggles to stand by forcing his back against a tree. He points to the badge SORIAN wears at his belt, a gold disc embossed with a roaring lion's head.
ANDELL (CONT'D): I hear they call you the "lion." Must be nice to have a good, unique title like that.
SORIAN approaches.
ANDELL backs away instinctively.
SORIAN nudges ANDELL's dropped sword with his and nods.
ANDELL takes the sword in his good, but now shaking, left hand.
SORIAN rushes him.
ANDELL parries at the last second.
SORIAN lunges forward again and continues his constant offensive. ANDELL only manages faulty, defensive maneuvers.
SORIAN severs ANDELL's leg with a brutal swing, and ANDELL falls onto his side.
ANDELL rolls onto his back to find SORIAN standing over him.
ANDELL: They also say you take no mercy. Not even towards healers. And especially not towards royalty.
SORIAN: In certain cases, perhaps, but I see no reason to pity those who cannot prove they are worthy of their assets. If you cannot perform the simple task of deflecting an infantry arrow to hold your father's land, it might as well belong to a better candidate.
SORIAN methodically hacks the howling ANDELL's limbs off with medical precision. He kneels and tears at his victim's clothing until he finds the royal signet ring, held on a chain around his neck.
SORIAN takes off his glove, kisses it, and slips it on his own finger.
SORIAN swiftly lops off ANDELL's head.

The double-spread spread opening for "The Little Mermaid." I decided to re-start the illustrations for Prince, a series of genderbend princess stories. I want my plots to follow the original fairy tales, but the personalities of the characters and physical designs have Disney references (see the princess's hair for one).
Our "mermaid" here, much like Disney's Ariel, is artsy and romantic, so his brothers consider him a wimp. He also has low physical self-esteem. You would, too if you had tentacles. He considers the fantastic human world he knows nothing about (and the pretty women found on its mastheads) might solve his problems of loneliness. He even cuts his tongue out and sews his mouth shut, trading his gift of poetry to the sea king, to escape. (Too bad it won't work out.) Mostly, I wanted to keep the theme of "not belonging in either world."

Rivek's foster father is the lord of a very pretty, small, seaside town. The three of them take their summer holidays there the year after Willow first arrives at their school.
Willowren used to mad crush on Bohren. Too bad he's gay. Then again, at sixteen, he doesn't know that yet.
Jesus, my anatomy took a hit on this one, too. Have to get back into figure drawing, I guess.

Willowren knew her legs were shorter, but she absolutely refused to come in second. She turned around and saw Bohren a good thirty feet or so behind her. Burying his sandals at the beach had bought her an early advantage.
She rounded a corner to duck out of eye-shot and into the hedge that surrounded the Cordelain manor. Not exactly behavior fit for a princess, but her mother was thankfully nowhere nearby to admonish her. She yelped as a dripping branch smack her across the forehead, leaving a pink welt in its wake. "Shit," she muttered under her breath. Also very unbecoming of a princess.
Emerging from the brush with a number of new scrapes, she turned around to gauge her progress but was distracted by the hazy, gray sky. She wiped the water from her eyes. The sight of rainclouds hovering over the open ocean was still new to her. After all, up until a year ago, she'd been living in a country whose largest water source were lakes fed by melting mountain ice. The lakes were big in their own way, but it was like comparing a very large chicken to an adult horse.
Unfortunately, for all her clever planning, Bohren still had longer legs. His muttered cursing over his muddy sandals caused her to break into a run again, stifling a laugh.
Panting, she dashed up the remaining few yards to the back kitchen door. Despite its weight, she flung it open with energy from excitement. And with just as much enthusiasm, she slammed it shut. The force caused a wooden bowl to come rattling off a nearby countertop, spilling its contents - soaking lentils - all over the ground. She leaned back against the door for a quick breath which immediately turned into a hearty laugh.
"I see this is the type of decorum they're teaching young ladies at the palace these days," the cook snorted.
Willow just shrugged and lifted her sopping bangs out of her eyes.
"Oh, you have no need for apologies, do you, princess?" Her stammering was interrupted by a rhythmic knock on the door.
She leaned against the keyhole, "What's the password?"
"Password? You've got to be kidding me. Uh... abra-ca-fucking-dabra."
"Nope, try again."
"Password."
"I'm not that stupid."
"Will is amazing and smart and beautiful, and I will never again challenge her to a footrace."
She opened the door just a crack. Bohren stood under the awning, dripping wet and getting further drenched in the rain every second. He had removed his shirt and was using it to wipe his forehead, but it didn't wipe the smirk off his face.
Perfect. Just how she had planned it.
